I’ve seen references to FOAF in relation to Web 2.0, Web 3.0 and even some blogs and forums mentioning Web 4.0 and Web 5.0 (no kidding Web 5.0 … heh).
I’m not sure I like the whole Web X.0 convention, but FOAF seems like a natural progression when viewed in the context of the exponential increase in socialization currently occurring on the internet in general.
For example, consider the explosive growth of MySpace, Flickr, and Weblogs in general.
