I thought that by now there would be a ton of threads like this one around already, but as requested by mstlyevil here and several others like sha_man here, I decided to post my own version of a script to automize the installation of Xgl and Compiz on Ubuntu. Attached to this post therefore is an improved version of what I sent to mstlyevil for Automatix, which I believe will work on both ATI and NVIDIA graphics cards using Ubuntu 6.06.
